During the Al-Hoda kindergarten’s graduation in Gaza, young children reenacted a scene as Islamic Jihad militants. They simulated an attack on an Israeli structure, complete with mock weapons. One child, dressed to resemble an Orthodox Jew, was depicted as a captive, while another, representing an Israeli soldier, was shown defeated. The children, in Islamic Jihad’s Al-Quds Brigades uniforms, staged this with dramatic sound effects. They concluded the act by placing a sign stating “Israel has fallen” on the ‘soldier’ and exited with the ‘hostage.’ The event continued with performances and an audio speech by Yasser Arafat. This display is a recurring feature of the kindergarten’s graduation, associated with the Islamic Jihad.
