In an interview on Diwan Al-Mulla Online (Kuwait), Bahrain-based researcher Amjad Taha, Regional Director at the British Middle East Centre for Studies and Research, discussed Hamas’s activities in Gaza. Taha claimed that Hamas, which he referred to as “militias,” operates under the influence of Iran’s IRGC. He suggested that Tehran is leveraging the Palestinian cause in the Vienna negotiations to have sanctions lifted against Iran. Taha criticized Hamas for using resources from Iran for destructive purposes rather than constructive ones.

He further described Hamas as the military wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, relying on the Palestinian cause to maintain its political relevance. Taha alleged that Hamas seeks funding for expanding tunnels and engaging in drug trafficking. He questioned the notion of victory in the context of Hamas using women and children as human shields and the resulting casualties, including those caused by Hamas rockets.
